When it comes to laundry, there are very few people that have a set organizational system. Laundry is something that happens one day of the week in most homes and results in clutter and piles through every other day of the week as the laundry seems to accumulate.
Use separate laundry baskets for automatic Sorting
Automatic sorting can occur within the laundry room or for clothes that have been left around the home when there are baskets for colors, baskets for whites, baskets for towels and baskets for darks. Laundry organizers containing three or four baskets can be purchased at local home supply stores and can save time when it comes to Decluttering the laundry room while trying to sort through clothes come laundry day.
Maintain supplies that are required for laundry
Laundry day can be simple when all of the supplies that are required, such as laundry detergent, fabric softener and laundry baskets are organized in an effective manner. Be sure to keep these items stocked up for the one time that you run out of laundry detergent late at night.
Take advantage of counter space to fold clothing
As soon as a load of clothing comes out of the dryer, be sure to fold the pieces of clothing. This can ensure that the laundry does not pile up within the laundry room and other areas of the home and become overwhelming to the person that is trying to fold the laundry. Installing counter space within a laundry room is an effective way to increase the space by using the cupboards below the space for storage or even taking advantage of laundry baskets which can be installed under the cupboards to make unsightly dirty laundry disappear.
Keep Dry Clean Only Separates
Dry clean only pieces of clothing should be kept separate as one mistake can ruin the piece of clothing. Consider taking advantage of dry clean only bags which are available from every dry cleaner. These bags can then be taken to the cleaners and returned home. They are a great way to keep organized.
Remove random items from pockets before washing
A small container that is placed beside the washing machine is an effective way to reduce the clutter that can accumulate within the laundry room. There always seem to be random coins and other items that are found in the clothes, this way, they can be avoided.
