It can be hard for many individuals to reduce clutter in their home. After all, they have earned everything they own, right? But when the accumulation of items and objects in your household begin to affect your everyday life it can get to a point where you have to make a commitment to cut the clutter. A great way to reduce the clutter in your home is to organize your home in a more orderly fashion. This is a great way for individuals to prioritize everything they own and start the long process of deciding what they need, what they don’t, and figuring out how they acquired so much clutter along the way.

· Categorize Your Cupboards and Pantries: Many people who accumulate a lot of clutter have random objects thrown into their drawers, cupboards, and pantries. Try sorting these objects into groups and assigning related objects a place in your home. This will also help you find objects when you need them, and allow you to live a more efficient life.

· Use Organizing Tools Available To You: If you take a trip to your local Wal-Mart there are many different organizing tools available to you. The tools come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and include tubs and sorters. Try to find storage containers that are specifically built for the objects that you have obtained in great number. This can also help you decide which items to throw away. Using your organizing utensils, you will be able to designate a limited amount of space for different items. Try to prioritize these items, and get rid of the items that will not fit.

· Prioritize: This is the most important step in eliminating clutter. It is important that you are able to tell the difference between what you need and what you do not need. This is the first step toward having a clutter-free house. Whenever you pick up an item, ask yourself when the last time you used it was, and then try to decide if you think you will ever have a need for it again, and if that need arises will you put this item to use? That will guide you on where the item truly belongs.

Eliminating clutter is quite simple once you understand the fundamentals of how to do it. When you see your house transform into an organized living space, cutting the clutter becomes easier and easier. Try using some of these tips and make your home a clutter-free one!

Like any fine garden, your home requires continual weeding and maintenance in order to stay clean, tidy, and organized. Weeding out unnecessary clutter will help you to minimize the amount of accumulated junk which plagues your lovely abode.

An organized home is one that maintains a clutter-free environment. The first step to controlling the clutter in your home is to take a good look at everything in your home, and take note of what is trash and unnecessary. Doing so will allow you to throw away things you don’t use and don’t need, clearing plenty of space to keep the things you want in your home.

A common mistake people make when trying to remove clutter from their homes is forgetting about hidden areas. Open up your closets, remove everything in them, and sort through the miscellaneous piles of junk you have accumulated over the years. Have a trash can ready, and toss anything you haven’t used in a while. A general rule: if you don’t need it, don’t keep it.

Often times people decide to keep things they don’t need because they still believe that the items work or have some kind of value. If you have a lot of such items, consider having a yard sale to get the remaining value from these belongings. After the sale, throw the remaining items away. If no one wants to buy them, they aren’t really worth anything!

For bigger items that won’t fit in your ordinary trash, you might have a bit more difficulty. Most towns and cities offer free trash pickup for big items, usually in the spring. Take advantage of this free service and prepare for it in advance. Get your big items ready and pile them in the garage until the pickup begins. That way, you can ensure you will have ample time to get the things out of your house that you don’t want and are just taking up empty space.

Keeping useless items out of your house is a habit that you have to get yourself into. Don’t keep things that you don’t need, just because you think they hold some sort of value. The shoes that haven’t fit for 10 years might still look like they’ve never been worn, but they won’t do you any good taking up your closet space!

I Do!" width="400" height="300" />
It all starts with a commitment ... say it ... I Do!

The commitment to get organized is not one to be taken lightly. It’s kind of like marriage. It is a very long-term commitment, especially if you are like most people who have allowed clutter to take over their lives. Clutter is not something that is combated over a weekend of “spring cleaning” – it is rather, a lifestyle.

Therefore, the adjustment to live a clutter-free life takes some adjustments, learning of new habits and an overall commitment to change. You will likely have to move out of your comfort zone in your very own home … yes, kind of like marriage.

Often times people are comfortable with certain things in this closet and clothes folded in a certain way, and that may not be the best way to store your belongings in the interest of organization. This is where your commitment to adjustment will come into play. You will need to be open-minded in the way that you go about living.

Furthermore, if you have a family, the commitment to organization is not one that can be undertaken alone. You will very likely need to solicit the support of your entire family, otherwise your efforts will be futile. So how do you go about doing that? Following are a few tips that will help you embark upon this journey to a clutter-free life:

Start slow. Rome was not built in a day. Remember that clutter forms from the outside in. Meaning that it is very likely a mess on the floor or on a table that makes it’s way into a closet and over time, your clutter festers in cabinets and closets and other out-of-sights places so that when duty calls, you can produce an appearance of clean and organized. Therefore, to truly combat clutter, you must begin at the heart of it. In those dusty cabinets and those cluttered closets.

Seek the commitment of your entire household. Once you have one small area of your home de-cluttered, you must have your entire household follow the system. One person failing to follow the rules could be enough to reverse all of your efforts. Be clear on what goes in the newly organized space, and also be clear on what does NOT go there.

Before you know it, your space will be organized and de-cluttered in no time. It all starts with a commitment. So go ahead and say it, I know it is scary, but just say it: I Do.
