Eradicating clutter is all about “just one”. I got this idea on Friday when I saw I had one piece of paper to file. When it was filed my “to be filed” basket would be empty. After I filed the piece of paper I saw a couple of other things that needed to go to their homes and with those taken care of I left my office. But low and behold when I walked in my bedroom there were was a necklace I had taken out and it had never been put away, so I quickly slipped it in the drawer where it belonged. That place was now free of clutter by putting just one thing away.

That was so much fun I went from room to room to see if there was just one piece of clutter I could get rid of. (I wasn’t going to overdo it if you know what I mean). I was actually surprised that in every room there was one piece or item of clutter that I could quickly move to where it belonged.

Clutter does not mean it is something that needs to be thrown away or recycled it most often means it is something that has not been put back in its home so it is out of place and becomes clutter. Especially when it becomes a clutter magnet for other items.

Now is this doable or what? Really-clearing clutter was never so simple or fun to do. Beware- you will have such a great time giving yourself permission to put only one piece of clutter away that you may get in the mood to do even more clutter clearing.
